Dominated by Windsor Castle, Windsor is a popular town with interest throughout the year. Dating back to William the Conqueror, the Castle’s site was chosen for its commanding position above the surrounding land. Today it is a favourite Royal residence and is the largest inhabited castle in the world.

On the approach to the Castle, a statue of Queen Victoria looks timelessly down Windsor’s main shopping street, Peascod Street. The town features a wide selection of shops and restaurants while, towards the Thames, a pleasant evening may be enjoyed at the Theatre Royal. |

The Thames offers scope for walks, river trips or just relaxing. Over the bridge lies Eton, home of the famous College for five and a half centuries. A walk up Eton High Street yields the delights of many antique shops. |
